About Muirwoods.net
Muirwoods.net is an independent visitor guide to Muir Woods National Monument. A practical resource for planning a trip into the redwoods without hunting through a dozen government PDFs.
What This Site Is
We are a privately run, independent website. We do not work for the National Park Service, we do not sell park tickets, and we are not affiliated with the official reservation system at gomuirwoods.com. What we do is walk visitors through the decisions: when to go, how to get there, where to park, which trail to pick, what it actually costs. Content is rewritten by hand whenever rules, fees, or transit schedules change.
What This Site Isn’t
For anything official (parking reservations, shuttle bookings, permits, emergencies, ranger programs, lost-and-found) you want the National Park Service directly at nps.gov/muwo or the reservation portal at gomuirwoods.com. We link to both from every page where they are relevant. We cannot book, change, or refund reservations on your behalf.
How We Keep It Current
Park rules change. Fees change. Shuttles add or drop routes. We do a full factual pass on the site regularly, pulling prices and dates straight from NPS and operator sources, and we date-stamp advisories so readers can see when information was last verified. If you spot something out of date, let us know. Corrections get priority.
Supporting the Park
Muir Woods is preserved and maintained by the National Park Service with major support from the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. If this site helped you plan a visit, the best thing you can do is visit responsibly: reserve in advance, follow Leave No Trace, and consider donating or volunteering with the Parks Conservancy.
